Bayern München vs. Bordeaux

After beating Bayern 2-1 a fortnight ago, Bordeaux were once again successful at the Allianz-Arena.

Bayern almost took the lead after two minutes, but a shot from Edson Braafheid was turned on to the crossbar by Bordeaux keeper Cedric Carrasso.

The Germans had another chance later on, but again it was Carrasso to get his hands in the way of a well-struck free kick from Schweinsteiger.

Bordeaux were more successful in the 37th minute, as a free kick from Wendel was headed into the net by Yoann Gourcuff.

Bayern created another number of opportunities in the first half, but instead conceded a second goal as Marouane Chamakh easily scored into an empty net after poor communication between Bayern keeper Butt and defender Badstuber in the 90th minute.

Bordeaux remain in first place in Group A and are six points ahead of Bayern, who are third. Bayern could close the gap with Bordeaux in the remaining two games, but the French would always have the head-to-head advantage.

Bayern do still have a small chance to survive the group phase, but are four points behind second-placed Juventus.
