Milan vs. Real Madrid

Madrid, who were stunned 3-2 at the Bernabéu by Milan two weeks earlier, came out strong on Tuesday, Benzema coming close three times in the first 20 minutes.

The Frenchman finally opened the scoring in the 29th minute when he pounced on a rebound after Milan goalkeeper Dida spilled a shot from the edge of the area by Kaká.

The lead did not last long, though, as Milan won a penalty six minutes later as defender Pepe was adjudged to have handled in the area. Ronaldinho stepped up to the spot and confidently slammed one into the top corner of the net to make it 1-1.

Milan thought they had the lead a minute later through Pato, but the flag went up for offside. The Milan players, however, did not agree with the call.

The second half lacked the chances and excitement of the first 45 minutes, but Dida had to be on his toes with a minute to play when he reacted nice to parry away Raúl's blistering effort.
