Siena vs. Lazio

The Tuscans had to do without the suspended Michele Fini and Simone Vergassola, plus injured Francesco Parravicini. Lazio's Francelino Matuzalem sat out a ban with the injured Ousmane Dabo, Mourad Meghni and Simone Del Nero.

Lazio’s record at the Artemio Franchi is very poor, managing just one win and one draw from six previous visits. Nonetheless, the visitors took the lead after eight minutes with a looping Stefano Mauri header from six yards, redirecting Pasquale Foggia's cross from the right.

Siena equalised with a solo effort from Massimo Maccarone, who sprinted down the left flank and at the byline squeezed his angled drive through a startled Nando Muslera's legs.

Cruz nodded in yet another Foggia cross from the left, but the goal was ruled offside.

Muslera had to palm a Reginaldo right-foot strike round the post, then Maccarone's snapshot flashed across the face of goal to whistle wide.

Siena were very unlucky on 76 minutes when Ghezzal's sudden strike was deflected on to the top of the upright with Muslera beaten. Moments later Curci used his thigh for a point-blank reaction save on Mauro Zarate's angled drive.
