Atalanta vs. Parma

Antonio Conte's boys galvanized by their first win of the season maintained that momentum, but the Gialloblu were flying high in sixth place. Robert Acquafresca, Ferreira Pinto, Tomas Manfredini and Paolo Bianco were sidelined, while Parma missed Macdonald Mariga, Andrea Pisanu and Jonathan Biabiany.

Atalanta had their first real chance after 27 minutes, as Diego De Ascentiis ball over the top found Simone Tiribocchi for an angled drive that beat the goalkeeper at the near post, but Zaccardo was ready to clear off the line.

De Ascentis went off injured as Barreto made his comeback from a long lay-off.

Christian Panucci punching of a Tiberio Guarente cross away, before it could reach Tiribocchi, meant that the referee awarded the penalty and Jaime Valdes buried it under the bar.

Panucci maintained he had been pushed.

Tiribocchi scored for the fourth game on the trot to double Atalanta's lead. Simone Padoin got away down the right and crossed for Tir's free header from eight yards.

Atalanta thought they had a third, but Tiribocchi's first was beaten away by Mirante's foot, then the follow-up thumped the underside of the bar and bounced out off the line.

Alberto Paloschi came off the bench and almost immediately got Parma back into it. He had literally been on the field for 60 seconds when he rose for a glancing header on a corner to the near post.

Federico Peluso bagged his debut Serie A goal, rising above the crowd to meet a corner kick and seal up the points.
