Atalanta vs. Milan

Mathieu Flamini returned from suspension for the Rossoneri, although Thiago Silva, Daniele Bonera, Marco Borriello, Davide Di Gennaro and Christian Abbiati were still sidelined. Atalanta were still unbeaten since Antonio Conte took charge, but lost Ferreira Pinto, Edgar Barreto, Paolo Bianco and Leonardo Talamonti.

Atalanta had the first chance after eight minutes when Simone Padoin's ball found Valdes at the back post for a cross-shot that flashed all the way across the face of goal, skimming the woodwork.

Simone Tiribocchi hit the back of the net, but the whistle had already been blown for a shove on Alessandro Nesta. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar also scored with a diving header that was clearly offside.

Atalanta finally got a goal that counted with Tiribocchi. A Padoin cross got caught under Cristiano Doni's feet, but Tiribocchi was alert to fire in from the penalty spot.

Doni flashed a shot just over the near top corner, as Milan were continually troubled down their left flank.

Atalanta were furious when Radovanovic received a second booking for holding back Alexandre Pato as he sprinted in midfield. Moments later Giampaolo Bellini avoided a yellow card for an easily worse foul on Flamini, as the tension spiralled in Bergamo.

Despite playing with 10 men, Tiribocchi volleyed over after good work from Padoin.

Ronaldinho replaced Flamini for the restart and Milan created a great chance immediately. Pato spun round his defender to shoot from nine yards, forcing a remarkable reaction save out of Andrea Consigli.

Gennaro Gattuso ran the risk of a second booking too, as Doni felt the brunt of it and limped off with a knee problem. Tomas Manfredini had the chance to put 10-man Atalanta 2-0 up when Massimo Ambrosini mistimed his header and the cross fell into his feet from six yards, but he wasn't expecting it and clumsily slashed wide.

Milan were also unlucky, as Ronaldinho's shot was palmed into the path of Pato, whose follow-up bounced off the ground and on to the crossbar.

In the last half-hour it was a siege on the Atalanta box, but Seedorf toe-poked a low drive that flashed across the face of goal to skim the woodwork.

Milan finally got back on level terms with Ronaldinho's first goal of the season. Alessandro Nesta's chipped pass over the defence found Dinho for a chest and volley at full stretch in at the near post.

There was controversy at both ends, as Atalanta wanted a penalty for a sliding tackle, then on the counter Seedorf claimed his shot had been charged down by Ceravolo's hand.

Pato also requested a spot-kick for Ceravolo's nudge.
